Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has commended the effort of Central Bank Governor (CBN) Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele for effectively handling all federal government financial intervention to agriculture, which save the country from falling into food crisis even with coronavirus pandemic.”
Gov Badaru stated this while speaking at the flagging up for the distribution of 2021 agricultural loans to dry season rice farmers in the state.
He said, every one in Nigeria can bear witness on the significant improvement recorded in the agricultural sector in the country following the various financial intervention given to farmers through CBN.
Governor Badaru also commended the Jigawa farmers for their compliance to the loan repayment modalities. He also charged the new beneficiaries to utilize the loan properly and also ensure timely repayment.
In his speech, Coordinator of Anchor Barrows Program, CBN Dutse branch, Jigawa state, Alhaji Abdu Amadu said over N4 billion Has so far been distributed to peasant farmers in the state.
He explained that, the success of the program can be seen by the high increase of agricultural outputs in the state and also the way farmers are repaying the loan.
Also speaking, the Chairman, Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria, represented by Mallam Muhammad Auwal, expressed the gratitude of his members to President Muhammad Buhari, Governors of Kebbi and Jigawa states for their contribution and support to improve farming activities in the country.
