The Dean Postgraduate School Bayero University Kano, Professor Umar Pate has been elected Vice-Chancellor Federal Univerity Kashere, Gombe State.
He was the pioneer Dean faculty of communications Bayero University Kano and Chairman, MacArthur Foundation implementation committee.
Professor Pate served as a Professor in the Department of Mass Communication at the University of Maiduguri where he rose through the ranks beginning as a Graduate Assistant in 1988, an Associate Professor in 2002 and Professor in 2007.
Professor Pate is the President Association of communications scholars and practitioners of Nigeria and a member of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Network of Communication Professors.
