Kano Pillars FC players have been charged to be focus on how to move to the second round in the ongoing 2020/2021 CAF Confederation Cup.
The team returned to the country from Senegal in a charted flight by Kano state government through Malam Aminu Kano International Airport Kano in the early hours of yesterday (Sunday) after they lost first leg by 3-1 against ASC Jaraaf Fc on Saturday at Stade Demba Diop stadium Dakar, Senegal.
The call was made by the Chairman of the Club, Alhaji Surajo Shaaibu Yahaya Jambul while addressing the players and technical crew in the club secretariat this morning (Monday) before their departure to Kaduna ahead of preliminary second leg encounter with ASC Jaraaf Fc of Senegal on Saturday 5/12/2020 at Ahmad Bello Stadium Kaduna.
Alhaji Surajo Shaaibu Jambul charged them to forget first leg result were they loss 3-1 in Dakar Senegal against ASC Jaraaf and concentrate how to cancel that deficit goals.
He assured them that the management and continental committee set up by Kano State Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, headed by the State Deputy Governor, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna would continue given priority to their welfare in order to ginger them to do well.
“You are the actors and our own is to support you to stay focused on to succeed in the Confederation Cup Campaign despite the loss in Senegal last week,” Chairman said.
He reaffirmed the determination that the team is not going to disappoint Kano state government, good people of the state and country in general particularly the football family.
The Chairman then urged fans of the club to continue to rally round their support to the team and prayers considering that the match on Saturday at Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna will be in a close door as directed by CAF.
On his part, the Captain of the Club, Rabi’u Ali aka Pele said they had put the Saturday result at the back of their minds and their target to ensure they qualify to the second round in the competition.
Ali said they have confidence and ever ready to score the goals that would give smiles to the faces of good people of the state and their fans across the globe on Saturday.
We know our fans are not happy with our result in the first leg where we lost 3-1 against ASC Jaraaf Fc last Saturday, but let them be patients that is football you can win, draw or loss but by God grace the second leg will be different, Captain Rabi’u emphasized.
Rabi’u expressed gratitude to the Kano state government and the management of the club for the support and kind of treatment they are given and pledged that they would justify the confidence repose in them.
The team left Kano around ten o’clock this morning (Monday) for a four hours journey to Kaduna due to the ongoing Kano to Kaduna road construction.
