The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says the commission is ready to conduct the Ondo state governorship election this Saturday 10th October.
The director electoral operations INEC headquarters Mr Abdulrazak Tukur-Yusuf gave the assurance while speaking to Stallion Times reporter at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Akure venue of the distribution of non sensitive materials to all the eighteen local government area of the state.
Mr Tukur-Yusuf noted that INEC have improved its system of voting and made available replacement for some non sensitive materials to make election more effective.
Speaking on the readiness of observers the co-convener Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room Mrs Esther Uzooma applauded the transparency in the distribution of the election materials saying that she expects a more coordinated election come Saturday.
On his part, All Progressives Party (APC) agent and state secretary Mr Alaye Adeshina also was optimistic of a better election due to the timeliness, good conduct and presence of security personnel.
Meanwhile, the state part agent, Young Progressive Party (YPP) in Ondo state Mr Oyedokun Adeshina express reservation on the distribution noting that party agents were not well informed of the process but challenged INEC to make up their game.
Mr Adeshina said that the followers have been well briefed of the importance of peaceful conduct on the day of election.
The materials were conveyed to all the eighteen local government area of the state as the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Ambassador Rufus Akeju signed on all document as witnessed by party agents, election observers and some security personnel.
