The Emir of kano Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero has urged the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) to be fair and just in the course of their primary assignment.
Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero was speaking on Wednesday while receiving the Kano Zonal Head of the agency Alhaji Sanusi Aliyu Muhammad on a courtesy call at his palace.
The Emir explained that the EFCC and other similar commissions being a watchdog of economic and financial Crime are in better position to minimize looting and stressed the need for them to consider all as equal while carrying out their investigation.
Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero revealed that as the outfit serving as investigative mechanism based on the power bestowed on it by the Constitution of the federal Republican of Nigeria, they should bear in mind that one day the reverse is the case even in the here after.
The monarch therefore appealed to the federal government to review the laws established such commissions so as to pave way for possible adjustment for effective service delivery.
Earlier, the Kano zonal Head of the EFCC Alhaji Sanusi Aliyu Muhammad told the host that they were at palace on familiarization visit and seek for emir’s blessing and advise on how best his stewardship will improve the services of the zonal office.
Similarly, the Emir received the members of the class ’82 of Dala old Girls Association under the leadership of Aisha Tanko Yakasai as well as Ilorin Emirate descendant’s forum of Kwara state on a thank you visit to their home town some couple of weeks ago.
