Investigation in the Ministry of Agriculture involves some staff of the Ministry and not the Deputy Governor as mischievously portrayed by a section of the media.
The Commission invited the Permanent Secretary, Director Livestock and other staff of the Ministry where they made a usual contribution to the ongoing investigation. The alleged offence contradicts Section 26 of the Kano State.
Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission Law 2008 (as amended) has recovered N 7,150,000.00 so far.
Therefore, any attempt to involve the Deputy Governor is sensational, false and misleading. For the clarity of doubt, the investigation was initiated with full consent, support and cooperation of His Excellency the Deputy Governor; a statement signed by Executive Secretary, Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado has said.
According to the statement, the Commission urges the public to disregard any false information suggesting that the Deputy Governor is under investigation.
