The Nigeria Labour Congress has vowed to proceed with its planned strike and protest with effect from September 28 if the Federal Government failed to reverse the hike in electricity and fuel prices.

In an interview with newsmen monitored via TVC News by Stallion Times, the NLC President, Ayuba Wabba said the proposed action by the organized labour would proceed from next week.

He stated that the decision was unanimously taken by the Chairmen of the 36 States and FCT Chapters of the NLC.

It can be recalled that the Federal Government had in early September increased the price of petrol from N138 per litre to N151 per litre.

Just last week Monday, the Trade Union Congress (TUC) last issued a seven-day ultimatum to the Federal Government to reverse the hikes or face strike action by the union. The ultimatum expired on Tuesday, 22/09/2020.
