Zamfara State Deputy Governor, Barr Mahdi Aliyu Muhammed has flagged off the distribution of palliative materials to the vulnerable, less privileged and needy people in the State.
This is sequel to the formation of two major Committees in respect of Covid-19 pandemic by Zamfara State Governor Dr. Bello Muhammad (Matawallen Maradun, Barden Kasar Hausa).
Deputy Governor Barr Mahdi Aliyu Muhammed chaired the Impact and Relief Committee while the Speaker State House of Assembly Rt Hon Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya championed the State Task Force Committee on Covid-19.
The Deputy Gov said the realization of different palliatives materials from well-meaning Nigerians philanthropists, National and International donor Organizations for possible distribution and effective utilization to targeted population, calls for high commendation and appreciation.
He also commended the drastic measures taken by the State Government to curtail Covid-19 pandemic by establishing well equipped Isolation Centers in the State. “It is also well-known fact that Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle provides all that is required in terms of facilities, medicaments and resources to support the general process health wise”, he added.
The Deputy Gov. further commended the extra efforts made by the Directorate of Humanitarian and Disaster Management Control under the Special Adviser Honourable Faki’ah Muhammad in their roles to access the palliatives from Federal Government and other donor organizations.
He appreciated those who personally and collectively gave donations in cash, kind or both.
Barr. Muhammed then urged the two State Committees to ensure equity in the distribution while enjoining all beneficiaries of the Palliatives to make judicious use of what they get.
Some of the distributed palliative materials were Rice, Spaghetti, Salt, Indomie and other foodstuffs.
