Gov. Ganduje Pardons Students Indicted in Last Dawakin Tofa Science College Riot

Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR has granted pardon to students indicted in the riot that took place at Dawakin Tofa Science College.

This was contained in a press release signed by Lauratu Ado Diso, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education, on Wednesday 12th August, 2020.

According to the statement, the governor also directed the Ministry of Education to immediately recall back to the school, the SS3 students amongst them that are to write WAEC Examinations.

The decision was taken on Wednesday, 12th August, following an executive Memo presented to the Governor by the Commissioner of Education, Mal. Muhammad Sanusi S. Kiru shortly before the commencement of the weekly State Executive Council’s meeting.

The Governor, however, warned the students to be law-abiding and ensure that such an unfortunate incidence is not repeated under whatever circumstance,’’ said the statement.

The statement concludes that, in view of this development, parents of SS3 Students from the College who registered for the forthcoming WAEC Examinations are advised to return their wards to the College with immediate effect.
