Over 24,000 Candidates are Expected to Sit for WASSCE in Kano

Kano state Commissioner for Education, Muhammad Sunusi Sa’id Kiru has said more than Twenty-Four Thousand (24, 000) candidates are expected to sit for West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in designated centers across the state.

He disclosed this during the distribution of Personal Protective Equipment PPEs to Five Hundred and Thirty-Eight Schools in the state.

He explains that about 538 public and private schools already fumigated as well as distributed Protective Personal Equipment (PPE), to protect teachers and students in the schools.

According to him, out of the number, 199 are public and 339 private schools benefitted from the program in a bid to mitigate spread of Covid-19 in state, the saying state government had adopted proactive measures to ensure strict compliance with Covid-19 protocols.

Sunusi Muhammad Sa’id added that Kano State Government would deploy additional teachers to reopened schools so as to have enough hands in conducting revision for the students sitting for WAEC.
