BUK: Faculty of Law Gets Cash Relief from Green Horizon

Delays in the payment of University lecturers’ salaries is becoming a trend and the situation is causing major disruptions, hardship and stress to both lecturers’ and students in Federal Universities.

In Kano, a section of lecturers is being rescued with cash relief package from Green Horizon Limited, a consortium of seasoned experts who have distinguished themselves in their various vocations offering multi-disciplinary services in law reforms, research and Development. Presenting a letter conveying the cash relief package to Prof. Usman Muhammad Shuaibu, the Dean Faculty of Law, Bayero University, Kano a director at Green Horizon, Prof Ibrahim Naiya Sada says his team feels at home and honored to be at the department to give their contribution to reduce some effects caused by the delayed payments of salaries.

Prof Naiya Sada says one of the objectives of his Organization is to render social services as such, “by hearing that some of our colleagues are in a little distress in one way or another, the Green Horizon felt the need to come and do our best to at least alleviate the sufferings by rendering service that will cushion the effect of lack of salary and the other hardship caused by covid-19 pandemic”.

The humanitarian service from Green Horizon came in two folds; a cash gift of =N=600,000 to 30 middle cadre staff (assistant lecturers 1 & 2 along with some administrative staff), there is a separate =N=30,000 to three support members staff, totaling =N=630,000. Also, =N=500,000 is set aside as revolving soft loan funds for senior lecturers.

In her remarks the Managing Director of Green Horizon, Aisha Ado Abdullahi says “Allah is using us to touch the lives of people and Allahdullilah, we have started this initiative and we are looking forward to doing more in future”.

Earlier, Prof. Usman Muhammad Shuaibu, the Dean Faculty of Law thanked the delegation from Green Horizon Ltd., for feeling it deem fit to extend the kind humanitarian gesture to his faculty.

In his closing remarks, Prof. Ado Malam Bello, one of the faculty elders, extends the gratitude of the faculty to Green Horizon for coming to the rescue of their colleagues, su moto. He commended the team and prayed that Allah should continue to bless the organization.

The event took place at the administrative Block of the Faculty of Law. Those who witnessed the occasion from Green Horizon Ltd., are Chairman Green Horizon, Prof. Muhammad Tabiu SAN, and other directors including Prof Ibrahim Naiya Sada, Aisha Ado Abdullahi, Huwaila Ibrahim and Ibrahim Barkindo
