Gov. Ganduje Signs Reviewed Appropriation documents into Law

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR has signed into Law, the Kano State reviewed fiscal document, at his office, Thursday.

This was done after reviewing the 2020 Budget document, to cater for the aftermath of covid-19 pandemic and after passing all the legislative stages, a press statement signed by Abba Anwar, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Kano State, said.

The statement said, the earlier document of over N200 Billion was reviewed down by 30 percent amounting to N138,279,140,661k. with N78.8 Billion for recurrent expenditure and N54.9 Billion for capital expenditure.

According to the statement, after signing the fiscal document, Governor Ganduje reminded that, “We are all aware that due to covid-19 pandemic, especially with the shutdown of the State for over a month, our sources of revenue were drastically reduced; so also, other allocations, for that we need to have a realistic budget that could cater for the post covid-19 period.”

For the Financial Management Law, he said “We have this Law in order to guide our financial engagement and management for a better society. With such guided financial actions, path to sustainable development would be smoother than it is now.”

The Governor made it very clear that, the state would work harder to trickle down development to the citizenry. Adding that, “All our ministries, departments and agencies are ready to redouble their efforts in Post-covid19 era.”
