Wife of the Kebbi state Governor, Haajia Aisha Atiku Bagudu has called on the northern states governors to ensure quality education to repatriated almajiri in their respective states while interacting with newsmen in Birnin kebbi.
She says the repatriation of almajiri in some northern states to their respective states of origin is a good initiative in the right direction, but the initiative will not be complete without ensuring a quality education for the repatriated Almajiri in their state of origin.
Aisha explains that before the repatriation of these children, they were in an environment away from their parents and most of them must have been accustomed to begging and living in the streets for many years. And this may have led most of them to adopt moral characters.
She therefore admonishes northern states governments to be committed to the full protection of the fundamental human rights of these children.
Hajiya Aisha Atiku Bagudu, the founder of Mass Literacy for The Less Privilege and Almajiri Initiative (MALLPAI) also affirms the commitment of her foundation in providing support and assistance to youths, women and the poor in the society through skills acquisition, engaging in commerce, agriculture produce and livestock production, in other for them to be self-reliance.
